BLUE BELL, Pa., August 18, 2016 – Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS) today announced it has been selected by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development agency to continue to provide secure application modernization services to support the department's Rural Development Comprehensive Loan Program (CLP) and other agency initiatives.

The award, made by USDA Rural Development under the National Institutes of Health's CIO-SP3 umbrella contract, has a ceiling value of approximately $232 million over the base period and seven option years. Unisys, which performed this work under a predecessor contract awarded in 2010, was selected following a competitive bid process.

Under the contract, Unisys will support a range of Rural Development programs serving citizens and businesses of rural America, including CLP as well as other initiatives that provide financial assistance and economic development. It will include a strong focus on providing secure web services to protect the personal information of citizens who participate in the agency's programs.

"Unisys is pleased to have been selected to continue our work in support of the important mission of USDA Rural Development," said Casey Coleman, group vice president, civilian agencies, Unisys Federal. "This program will help the agency develop and maintain software systems needed for the essential loans and grants to help improve the economy and quality of life in rural America."

USDA Rural Development manages a $212 billion portfolio of loans and will administer $38 billion in loans, loan guarantees and grants this fiscal year.

The contract covers all aspects of application modernization, maintenance and operations to support the agency's mission, employing agile techniques for rapid and reliable software development and delivery. Unisys will continue to enhance the CLP framework to allow the agency to integrate disparate applications across multiple computing platforms. Additionally, Unisys will continue to leverage an Amazon Web Services-based DevOps environment to quickly and seamlessly start up and prepare projects for integration with the agency's cloud-based infrastructure.

"Unisys welcomes the opportunity to continue to provide these innovative solutions leveraging our experience implementing secure cloud services across government," said Greg Gordon, Unisys client executive for natural resources agencies. "Our record of success in delivering secure business-to-government services offerings can help USDA Rural Development achieve its objectives safely and securely."
